Streaming internet music right to your ears!

Yes! I’ve found the best way to find great new music and bands! For free!

Enter Last-FM, one of the most popular internet radio stations on the web. Please, do read on.

Okay, so here’s the low down: Last-FM, an internet radio provider, allows you to listen to music from a huge library of bands, for free, then catalogs and caters all of the positive and negative feedback you provide to create for you a custom radio station that you’ll love! You can also use keywords and tags to generate radio stations on the fly that bend to your will. Want to listen to only vintage-rock? Type it in and jam. Feeling a little down? Type in “emo” and cut your wrists till your heart’s content. You can use your internet browser of choice to listen to Last anywhere you go, but that’s not the only thing that they offer.

There are two ways to listen to Last-FM; through yourr normal internet browser and through the Radio Player. By signing up, you have the option to download the (free) Radio Player, which is an actual program you can use. This will let you connect to the internet radio server any time you want, and gives you options to tweak your radio station to your liking. It’s better than using the internet browser to listen to the music (I think it’s a bit faster, too). Also, if you’re not using the Radio Player, but listening to your own music stored on your PC, Last will catalog that information, too, and combined with your radio preferences generates charts, playlists, and more based on what you listen to! It’s really pretty neat. All that info is packaged up neatly into little charts and graphs that you can then share on your medium of choice, be it Myspace, blogs, email, whatever. It’s a great way to share and enjoy new music. I have an active feed to my chart that you can view in the “Now Listening…” page of this blog. Check it out!

By randomly selecting songs from any genre you prefer, you’re always bound to find some new band that you’ll enjoy. Personally, I’ve found several, and my collection grows larger every week. You’d be surprised how many awesome bands you’re passing up that aren’t hitting the mainstream.

Do yourself a favor and chickity check it out.
