Seriously, what is this phenomenom that’s recently surfaced, where grown men are hitting notes that would make Mariah Carey envious? And more importantly, why do I even like this kind of music? Questions better left unanswered… You know what I’m talking about though. Bands like A.F.I., Coheed & Cambria, Chiodos, to name a few. Were these guys castrated at birth or what?

Well, regardless, check out Circa Survive. Not just another faggoty emo band to add to the throng of goth image-aborbed teen idols, they’ve got a pretty smooth groove. Picked up the album Juturna the other day, and it’s starting to grow on me. Their style really doesn’t vary a whole lot on this album, but it’s all good stuff, and well worth checking out. If you pay attention, you can hear other band’s influences in their music, but mixed with a style all their own. I’d say 6/10.
